Jamal Ramos, age 25, was found on the shoulder of I-91 in Holyoke earlier this month, State Police said. He said he couldn't get gas and asked for help getting a tow truck to his location.
However, as they waited, police learned Ramos didn't have a driver's license, authorities said. Officers wrote him a ticket.
Officers went to inventory the car before it was towed away, but Ramos got nervous and refused to move away from the vehicle, authorities said. It could have been because there was a loaded pistol in the glove compartment, Holyoke police said.
He didn't have a license for that, either, officials said.
Ramos was charged with driving without a license, no FID card for the pistol, and possession of ammunition without an FID card, police said.
